It is a famous temple of the Soto Buddhist sect with a history of more than 600 years built along the valley of the Daiyu River halfway up Mt. Myojingatake, which is the outer ring of Hakone. The founder of the temple was Ryoan-emyo-zenji and it is said that Doryo, who was deeply involved in the construction of the temple. became a Tengu (supernatural being) and protects the temple.
